Valentine's Day is all about love for most couples. A lot of couples spend their Valentine's Day in a fancy restaurant, but I prefer to stay in the comfort of my own home.Staying at home can be extremely romantic if you know what to do.
Adding romance to your home can be extremely simple. In this post I'll be sharing my top five ways to add romance to your home.

1. Candles
Candles can add a certain ambiance to any situation. Imagine sitting with your Valentine while a soft glow of candlelight dances across the scene. The image is oddly delightful, isn't it?

2. Mood Music
Good music always adds up to a good time. The type of music you choose is really up to you, and your particular preferences. But, personally, -if I'm trying to set a romantic mood- I always go for jazz, classical, or the big band genres.

3. Incense
Certain scents can provoke certain feelings in people. To add a romantic feel to your night, try lighting up some Rose, Lavender, or Vanilla. These three scents are said to provoke feelings of romance. Plus, lavender has been known to provide a relaxing effect on people.

4. Massage
Massages are a great way to connect with your partner. Plus, its a nice, relaxing reward after a hard day of work, cleaning the house, or just stress. Massages are great, but you can take relaxation and sensual-ness to a whole other level with massage oils. The three scents I mentioned in the section above can be found in massage oils as well.

5. Turn off all phones, computers, and electronics!
Having your full attention on your partner will make the night WAY more memorable. Plus, its rude to gawk at your phone when you're suppose to be spending quality time with your special someone. Actually being in the moment with someone requires you to be fully in the moment- heart, body, and soul.

No electronics is definitely good advice! Competing with someone's iphone is so frustrating.

Cobberson & Co., I definitely agree with you! My mom is having a hard time accepting that people like to stare at their phones... I've nicknamed her boyfriend Mr. Twitter Man!

Oh how I look forward to the days when we can actually do that. Another 18 years perhaps?
ReplyDeleteLeila, maybe asking your parents or in-laws to take your sweet baby for a night could help you and your partner find a bit of romance! Or just steal a few hours to yourselves when the precious one is sleeping! Thanks for stopping by!
